Prince of Persia 3D Cheats
Accessing the console
- Install Prince of Persia 3D. Download patch and activate it.
- Create a shortcut on your desktop, for the game, and add a console command, for instance:
"C:\Program Files\Red Orb\Prince of Persia 3D\pop3d.exe" -console
- In the game, hit F5 to open the console, then you can enter any of the following codes:
immortal - god mode
mortal - to turn off immortal
version
nextlevel
flycam - useful for seeing around corners. You have to turn it off in order to
move again.
Start in any level
- Start a game with one of the command line parameters below to enable cheat mode.
- Here's an easy way of doing this: Create a Shortcut to the game on your Desktop. Right click on it, go to properties. You will see something like: "C:\***\****\****\pod3d.exe".
- Now type one of the command lines after it: (ex.
C:\***\****\****\ pop3d.exe -l "geometry\rooms\prisonfix")
I "geometry\rooms\prisonfix"
I "geometry\rooms\ivorytwr"
I "geometry\rooms\cistern"
I "geometry\rooms\palace2"
I "geometry\rooms\palace3"
I "geometry\rooms\palace4"
I "geometry\rooms\roof1"
I "geometry\rooms\cityanddocks"
I "geometry\rooms\dirig1a"
I "geometry\rooms\dirig1b"
I "geometry\rooms\dirig2"
I "geometry\rooms\dirigfinale"
I "geometry\rooms\ruins"
I "geometry\rooms\cliffs"
I "geometry\rooms\solar1"
I "geometry\rooms\moontemple"
I "geometry\rooms\finale" - Then start the game and select "New Game".
Note: Once this cheat is used, all subsequent levels will have to be loaded this way because this is overlaying level 1 and when the level is completed, the game then automatically loads level two instead of the level after the one initially loaded. It does not work to save the game as soon as the level loads, then exit the game and restart by not using the cheat shortcut.
Savegame hex cheats
Saved games are the files named SAVE001, SAVE002, SAVE003, etc. in the directory the game was installed into (C:\POP3D, for instance). Using a hex editor, the following game values may be adjusted.
First search for the all lower-case word "buffer". It will be at the end of a long string of paths containing the word geometry. Now count 330 more bytes from the end of "buffer". This location contains the amount of health the prince currently has. The maximum value this may be set to is hex 76. Count four more bytes and this location contains the maximum amount of health the prince *may* have. This maximum value is also hex 76.
262 bytes past the end of "buffer" are the two bytes that enable the three bladed weapons and six types of arrows. Hex 1F 1F enables everything.
238 bytes from the end of "buffer" contains the number of type 1 arrows the prince has. The maximum value this may be set to is hex FF (255). The display for the number of arrows will not show correctly on the game screen for values greater than 99.
4 bytes further contains the value for type 2 arrows. Max is hex FF.
4 bytes further is type 3 arrows. Max is hex FF.
4 bytes further is type 4 arrows. Max is hex FF.
4 bytes further is type 5 arrows. Max is hex FF.
4 bytes further is type 6 arrows. Max is hex FF.
Sometimes the first of the six values for arrows starts 222 bytes past the end of "buffer" instead of 238 bytes past "buffer". Then the type 2 arrows are at 238, type 3 four bytes from there, and so on.
Magic Trainer Creator Cheat
As the game moves the address for health to different places, a search can be done for a
specific string which indicates the health value. Set the beginning address to 3000000
and the
ending adress to 4000000
. Search for 000000240000000000000003
if the prince has 3 full bottles
of elixir. The hex 24 in the string can be set to a maximum of hex 76, which gives the prince
10 full bottles of elixir. This 76 should now be frozen by Magic Trainer Creator so that the
next time it is played, it will be known what string to search for, e.g.
000000760000000000000003
However, for some reason, this doesn't always work.
Hints
UnderGround:
On Level 2, you have to PULL a piece of furniture.
If you push the furniture from the left side, between the furniture and the chair, the ground
will suck you down and you will appear at the door of the same room.
No fights:
Every time you have to fight, look around and look for
stairs, if you see them go up or down and your enemy will not attack you, since they can`t
jump, walk upstairs, or crunch. Once they can`t reach you, take your bowl and kill him! One
arrow should do the trick.
Useful tips for a better game
Run:
Don't fight when not necessary. Just run out of their reach.
Look:
Very important throughout look out for traps, dented or coloured bits of floor, spikes, use the small 'enter' button to get views from every angle, and potions and arrows and weapons.
Attack:
If you are fighting someone with a staff, get in as close as possible. For guys with other weapons, try to hit from arm's length, it works.
Level of Difficulty
For those who don't know - you can play the game under 3 types of level's
difficulty: Easy - Medium - Hard.
Simply go to: Options > Game and tick the level of difficulty you want to play.
Also, you can change the capacity of the gore in the game (More/Less).
Collection for every LEP-potion in the game
Written by Maurice Kaltofen
LEP stands for "Life Extension Potion". These are the bright green potions found during the game. When drinking, they can add a bottle or more to your maximum life.
Level 1 - Prison: - Found right after the first guard you need to fight; Go into the room where he came from and push the crate under the crane. Climb up the ledge and lift the box, using the crane. Get back down, ét voilá: You found it!
Level 4 - Palace 1: - Found after killing the last guard (axe-wielder). The super jump potion's effect should last over the whole level here. Get to the very outside of the middle circle in the room, facing the middle and jump up. You should eventually grab a ledge. If not, you just lost some health (I suggest save before doing it). If you successfully grabbed the ledge, pull up, of course. On the upper ledge, see a table-ish thing in the middle? Climb on it and get to the very border of it. Jump up, facing off the middle and grab one other ledge. Climb up and search there for a potion.
Level 7 - Rooftops: - Can be seen before fighting the first guard. Go ahead and fight him, take a passage through a window, right, fight the guard there, run over the loose floor (jump when it falls,or grab the ledge). Head into the niche and examine the torches. One has a pressure plate which opens some windows. Climb through. The rest is all self-explanatory, so there's not much to say.
Level 8 - Streets/Docks: - Found at the Docks. It's on the top of the house of the old man where the flute is in. Grab it, you'll need it to finish the level. Find your way up onto the roof of the house and climb through a hole. In there's an LEP. Drink it and then find your way to the Dirigible.
Level 10 - Lower Dirigible 2: - This potion is up above 2 the right of the cannon(which shoots u if u r in front of it) so you'll have to climb around it, using a rope and the platforms nearby.
Level 13 - Floating Ruins: - Somewhere should be a platform where there's a guard and the LEP. You have to find the arrow called "Snare of The Unwary Soul" or something like that. Shoot the guard with it (save before you do, it's your only one and if you miss, you'll miss the LEP, as well) and drink the potion while being him.
Level 14 - Cliffs: - Found inside the first guardhouse after unfrozen a monk. It's located inside a pit where it's guarded by some kind of monster (like Shattered said: "some sort of black monkey or rat").
That's it. Every (?) LEP in the game.
