POP2 Genesis (Sega Mega Drive)

Description

Megadrive port of Prince of Persia 2, sequel of one of the greatest games ever. In a quick comparison, this port is worse than the SNES one (sadly). This game was canned for unknown reasons.

The game works just fine with Gens32. Graphics are a bit disappointment, as they are inspired by SNES version in many aspects. But this game DOES have a final level. Big plus for that. It just misses two or three cutscenes. And the music isn't as bad as it was in SNES version. And it definitely has less bugs then the SNES version (according to the SNES runthrough video). So don't mind the BETA word at all. Although incomplete, this game beats the SNES one and uses as much potential Genesis could possibly offer. :)

The unreleased Mega Drive port of Prince of Persia 2. It was dumped by Jurai and released by drx on August 11, 2006.

This is an unofficial release of prince of Persia 2 : The Shadow and the Flame. This is really a Genesis version (but a prototype one). It was never officially released and sold. It is available now for free download on hidden-palace.org. There is no a "full version" because on the web site says that "this game was canned for unknown reasons".

Linkuei's most complex ROM hacking project to date! In this Improvement hack, Linkuei got the Build 1995-02-20 of Prince of Persia 2 - The Shadow and the Flame Prototype and Fixed:

The broken Music Instruments. Improved all the FM instruments!
Improved all the Color Palettes to look better and more accurate to the original MS-DOS version.
Reinserted all the MS-DOS Sound Samples to sound in the right frequency.
Fixed some Graphics to look more accurate and to fix some details.
LEVEL 9 Horse Bug Fix and Button layout changed (Thanks to Tony Hedstron for this).

Prince of Persia 2 Genesis - Horse Level Fixed

Unlike the released SNES port, this version has almost identical controls, same timing, and accurate graphics. The only problem of this version is a bug that makes it impossible to complete level 9 without reset your system and insert the next level Password. Tony Hedstrom, a well know Game Genie code creator, fixed the horse bug of this unreleased version.
